About Me
Hi, I’m Paul! I’m a college student currently attending the Pennsylvania State University majoring in Computer Science. I do many different things. One of my jobs is working for Camp Susquehannock as a maintenance man. It’s the greatest job I’ve ever had.
I get to work outside everyday with some great people, getting my hands dirty doing all kinds of maintenance and farm work. I also work for a general contractor (Joe Oruska). We do about everything from building new houses to landscape work to restoring 150 year old buildings. Another thing I do is work for the Shafer family. I am currently restoring an old cottage for them that I plan to eventually live in. The Shafer’s are the people who own Camp Susquehannock, so that’s how I got to know them. I seem to be their property care-taker as well as one of their go-to guys when they need something done. Besides being able to work with my hands I also design and host websites. I used to work for the Montrose Area School District and my main job was to maintain the district’s website. I worked for them for four years and I learned a whole lot. My plan is to one day grow my current web hosting business to a point where I can live off it and possibly be able to hire a few people to help maintain it. I’m not very good with web design, I lack the creativity that many people have, but I seem to be good at coding the background parts of sites that most people don’t realize are there.
I love the outdoors and the country more than anything. I’ve lived in the country all of my life and there is no way that I could ever live in a town or city. I am working on a cabin that I plan to live in when it’s finished. This cabin is a mile away from camp and is owned by the Shafer family. This building used to be an old school house and was built before 1900. It was later added-on to and became a one season summer home. I have made an arangement with the Shafer’s and they are allowing me to fix the place and turn it into a four season home so I can stay there all year. I am currently very unhappy with the way our government is being run. I think it’s gotten away from the way our founding fathers intended it. I believe in small government, and more freedom. I believe that our federal government is to large and that the power belongs to the states, not the federal government. Instead of nationalizing laws, let the states have their own…so for example, if I don’t like the laws in PA, I could move to New York or Wyoming or Texas or. “Vote with your feet”. I could go on all day..
I’ll write more later….
